The Magic of Christmas celebration is taking place on the first day of next month in downtown Langley.

A City of Langley presentation, the day will start off with breakfast with Santa at the Douglas Recreation Centre from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. There will be crafts, face painting, and a magic show. Tickets are $10 for people aged four and over and guests must preregister. Call 604-514-2940 for more information.

Later on, there will be live entertainment and crafts at McBurney Plaza while families get ready to watch the parade, which will begin at 6:00 PM at Fraser Highway and 56th Avenue and travel down Fraser Highway to 207th Street. There will be over 50 parade participants, including floats, dancers and vehicles. At the back of the procession will be Santa Claus, of course.

After the parade, there will be a tree lighting and caroling downtown. The Mayor and his council will be making an appearance.

Sponsorships are still available from $500 up to $1,500. Some of the parade participants may be carrying banners provided by Langley banner printing firms to draw attention to their organization or business.

The Magic of Christmas celebration will be held at McBurney Plaza on Saturday, December 1 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM. Admission is free of charge. For current information, contact the City of Langley at 604-514-2800.
