Kitchener class to discuss creative school lunches

August 21, 2017 by

School days are on the way for Kitchener, and a workshop that will give parents and caregivers ideas for their children’s school lunches has been planned for the area.

An M.Sc. and Registered Holistic Nutritionist with the Sage Naturopathic Clinic, Marianna Duba, will be facilitating the session, which will give those who participate ideas they can use to make lunches for school that are above and beyond the traditional sandwich and cookies.

Duba will discuss how to make choices that are both nutritious and appealing, and that can be sent to school in a box or bag. She will review the nutritional content of some popular choices, and provide advice about how to prepare homemade food that tastes good.

Farm Boy Fairway, which is located at 385 Fairway Road South will serve as the venue for the workshop, and it is being offered free of charge. It will run for one hour, and everyone is welcome to participate. Comb binding can be utilized to create recipe books that each parent or caregiver who participates in a session like this can take with them to try out the dishes at home.

September 13 has been selected as the date for this event, and it will begin at 6:30 pm. Anyone who would like to register or find out more information can do so on the Farm Boy London Facebook page.
