Kitchener CBC to deliver “sounds of season” live and in-person

December 8, 2018 by

As is becoming a holiday tradition, the Kitchener-Waterloo area branch of CBC Radio will be holding a live ‘Sounds of the Season’ fundraiser.

The show will be a live and in-person edition of the station’s Morning Edition, including host Craig Norris. The morning will feature music, interviews, and other events. The purpose of the event is to raise money for Food Bank of Waterloo Region, and to take a step towards the larger goal of ensuring that no one goes hungry during the holidays.

Sounds of the Season will kick off early, running from 6:00 to 8:30 AM at Kitchener’s TheMuseum. Musical guests for the live show are set to include the nuevo-flamenco guitarist Juneyt Yetkiner, K-W Glee, and accordionist Rick Guzik. Local chef Kevin Thomas will provide a live cooking demonstration involving items that might be in a food hamper. For those not feeling up to going up that early, the event will be aired live on radio and streaming on CBC’s website.

The holiday season is a time for giving, and locally-oriented events like Sounds of the Season can help to make sure donors’ money helps out their own community. Such events often use flyer printing and banner printing to help get the word out. Donations to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region can be made in the form of food, cash, or credit card payment.
