Heads up for mental health care in Windsor

February 16, 2017 by

Hats on for Health Care is returning to Windsor for another year, and everyone in the community is invited to show their support for their local hospital’s mental health programs.

The event, which raises funds that the Ouellette Campus, is marking its eighth year. It brings together individuals, businesses, service organizations and more in a variety of activities that are intended to be fun while raising both money and awareness of the importance of the mental healthcare system.

To participate, all someone needs to do is donate $2 and wear their favorite funny hat all day to show their support. In exchange, they will be given a sticker to let others know that they can also lend a hand, or more accurately, their head, to the cause. Customized promotional products like this can be supplied to a fundraiser by a printer. The event’s organizers pointed out that last year, it was able to raise more than $40,000 through the generous support of members of the local community. They hope this year will be just as much of a success.

March 1 has been selected as the date for Hats on for Health Care, and information for anyone who would like to find out more about how they, their staff, students, volunteers or customers can make a difference has been made available on the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation’s website.
