Hamilton residents to join first responders in taking steps for lung research

January 14, 2017 by

Hamilton families are invited to join local firefighters in an activity that will see them climb 26 storeys in support of lung research.

Local first responders have volunteered to climb the 533 steps of the building located at 100 King West in Hamilton, with many of them wearing their full gear. Members of the public are welcome to participate and undertake the challenge for themselves. Medals will be given to both professional and civilians in several different age and gear levels, as well as to the winning teams. Banners and other promotional products for this type of event can be supplied by a printer.

The day will kick off with registration, which will take place at The Honest Lawyer restaurant. After that, the civilians will take to the stairs, to be followed by the professional first responders. Once everyone has completed their climb and come back down, there will be an awards celebration and time for socializing at The Honest Lawyer.

The organizers of the event are looking for anyone who might be interested in helping out. Those who would like to do so are asked to call 905-745-7416.

The Steeltown Climb will be held on February 4 at Stelco Tower, with registration being held beforehand in The Honest Lawyer. More information and an opportunity to sign up to take part can be found on the event’s website.
