Golf tournament will help girls’ dreams come true

The 4th annual Golf Tournament of the Leduc Chamber of Commerce is taking place next month in nearby Millet.

A fundraiser for the Chamber’s Prom Project, the format of the golf tournament is Texas Scramble. Participation fees are $90 per person and include nine holes of golf, the use of a golf cart, a catered meal, and on-course activities, one of which will be Caddyshack trivia. Prizes will be awarded for various contests during the dinner, and each player will also receive a T-shirt.

Sponsorships are available from $400 up to $1,000, with the $1,000 rate including fees for four players. Sponsors will have their names listed on hole signs, a plaque, and a company sign that will be displayed at the event.

The Prom Project is an initiative of the Leduc Chamber of Commerce. It helps to provide girls with prom dresses regardless of their financial situation. The gowns are rented for a low cost.

No doubt many Leduc business leaders will be bringing their business cards to exchange with their peers. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss business on the course or during the dinner.

The golf tournament will be held at the Pipestone Links Golf Course in Millet. To find out more about the tournament, or about the Prom Project, call 780-216-0416.
