The Saskatchewan Highland Gathering and Celtic Festival is taking place over the Victoria Day weekend in Regina.

There are a large number of activities planned for the weekend that will appeal to people of all ages.

There will be several competitions such as the Queen City Highland Dance Championship, a strength competition and the Saskatchewan Pipe Band Championship. There will also be performances by drummers, pipers and others in the Knotted Thistle Festival Tent.

Taking place this weekend is also the Prairie Piping Invitational, which will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton. Ticket prices are $8 for general admission, or $20 for the inclusion of beer and pizza. Also, the Western Canadian Scottish Athletics Championship will take place and will feature activities such as the caber toss and shotput.

The children will not be forgotten. There are set to be bouncy castles, musical entertainment, and a children’s caber toss. Guests can also shop at the vendor’s market for a variety of related merchandise and food.

To spread word of events like this, Regina print shops are often asked to provide printed advertising like posters or flyers.

The Saskatchewan Highland Gathering and Celtic Festival will take place at Victoria Park from May 19 to 20. Tickets are $10 per day for adults and $5 for seniors and children between the age of 12 and 17; two-day passes available for $15 and $7 while a family pass is $35. Call 306-789-6516 to learn more.
