Garlic set to fill the air in Newmarket

July 26, 2013 by

The 13th annual Garlic is Great Festival is returning to Newmarket next month. This one-day event will celebrate all things great about the opinion-splitting member of the onion family.

The festival will feature cooking demonstrations, live entertainment, contests, free samples and information about the many benefits and uses of garlic. For many, garlic is an acquired taste and some people even go out of their way to avoid it, but the festival should introduce people to its positive side.

Vendors will be on hand during the festival to sell items made with or in some way related to garlic; this might include plants, salad dressings and supplements. Vendors will also have the opportunity to give demonstrations on stage and to provide entertainment for visitors to the festival.

A 10x10ft space can be rented for $80; this includes a 6ft table and two chairs. Vendors will also be provided with flyers to help advertise the festival to their clients and customers. No doubt the festival’s organizers will have invested in flyer printing services from Newmarket’s printing companies. Flyers can be extremely effective as they can be distributed in a whole host of different ways.

The festival will take place at Newmarket Farmers’ Market on August 17, with entry permitted from 8:00am – 1:00pm. Admission is free and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
