Fundraising event will help educate the public about owls

The 18th annual Burrowing Owl Fundraiser is taking place next month in Moose Jaw. The evening is a fundraiser for the Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretive Center.

Guests will enjoy a dinner as well as many other fun activities. There is set to be a penny parade, silent and live auctions, and prize drawings.

Entertainment during the evening will be provided by Doug Arden, a ventriloquist, comedian and magician. Cheer Infinity Athletic will be performing several demonstrations.

Special guests for the evening will be burrowing owls Chip and Cricket; attendees will be able to get up close and personal with the owls.

The Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre helps to preserve the burrowing owl by offering them a sanctuary and by educating the public on their importance in nature. The public also has the opportunity to adopt one of the birds and will receive a stuffed plush owl.

Organizers of events like this often contact printing services companies to order marketing materials such as flyers and posters.

The Burrowing Owl Fundraiser will be held at the Moose Jaw Exhibition Convention Centre on November 24 from 5:30 to 11:30 PM. Tickets are $40 each or $300 for a table of eight.
