Fundraiser will help to preserve Alberta history

The September Shindig is taking place next month in Calgary. It is a fundraiser for the Heritage Park Foundation.

The main event of the evening will be the mini-rodeo. It will feature many of the

traditional rodeo events such as bull riding and bronco-busting, there will also be mini chuck wagon racing.

There will also be several food tents serving a variety of dishes. Guests will have the opportunity to sit down and to enjoy their meals at tables for eight.

There is set to be a live auction that will be hosted by auctioneer Danny Hooper and broadcaster Darrel Janz.

Guests can also enjoy rides on the antique midway or partake in games of chance. In addition, they can also visit one of several psychic tents to learn about their proposed future.

Funds raised for the Heritage Park Foundation will go towards several education programs such as school field trips, day camps and adult education on topics such as honey beers and Big Rock brewing.

Calgary print shops may be asked by organizers to provide flyer printing services to market this event.

The September Shindig will be held at Heritage Park Historical Village on September 15 from 5:00 to 11:59 PM. Tickets are $262.50 each or $1,995 for a table of eight. To learn more about this event, contact Laurene Mitchell at 403-268-8509.
