Fundraiser brings New Orleans to Calgary

The New Orleans Mardi Gras Fundraising Gala is taking place next month in Calgary. The day is a fundraiser for Lung Cancer Initiatives.

The theme of the gala is ‘Unmasking the reality of lung cancer’. Guests will all receive goodie bags containing masks and beads to wear for the evening.

There will be plenty of fun activities taking place over the course of the evening, including a Cajun buffet, a ballroom dance demonstration, Mambo dance lessons, and a silent auction. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Kimberlites, who will be performing zydeco music. In addition, a DJ will be spinning tunes for guests to dance to.

There will also be plenty of bourbon to sample and guest speakers such as Keon Raymond.

Lung Cancer Initiatives funds four separate organizations involved in the fight against the deadly disease. These are Lung Cancer Canada, the Alberta Cancer Exercise (ACE) Program, Evict Radon, and Glans-Look Lung Cancer Database. Funds are distributed evenly among the organizations.

Calgary printing services companies often provide printed materials such as banners and invitations to help attract people to charity events such as this.

The New Orleans Mardi Gras Fundraising Gala will be held at the Calgary Hellenic Community Centre on March 1 from 6:00 to 11:30 PM. Tickets are $150 each. For the most current information about this event, or to learn about the charity partners, call Diane at 403-801-5000.
