Food symposium to be held in Sherwood Park area

January 25, 2017 by

A conference has been planned for the Sherwood Park Area that will bring together food producers, suppliers and consumers in an event that will explore ways that the system can deliver high-quality and nutritious food for all.

The symposium will address issues related to food access, finding new markets, how food waste can be reduced and re-purposed, farming, public policies related to this and much more. The keynote speaker for the event is Wayne Roberts – an expert in the area of food policy.

In addition to the speakers and panel discussion, there will be vendor displays, networking opportunities, and an evening dedicated to showcasing music and recipes prepared by Alberta residents. There has been time built into the schedule for attendees to participate in group activities and brainstorming sessions. A printer can be called upon to supply corporate gifts and promotional items to organizations and companies that plan on setting up a table or other display during a symposium like this.

The Cultivating Connections Alberta Regional Food System Forum 2017 has been planned for February 3rd to February 5th at Edmonton’s Northlands, located at 7515 118 Avenue Northwest. The ticket price for a regular admission is $250.00, while for students it’s been set at $125.00. This includes admission to all the activities and lunches. Further information and an opportunity to register can be found on the organizer’s website.
