First Night festivities on the way for Whitby

November 30, 2017 by

The New Year will soon be here, and in Whitby, that means it is time for a special celebration for young and old alike.

During the community’s New Year’s Eve Free Family fun event, the public will have an opportunity to come together with their family, friends and neighbors to participate in an evening of activities to help them celebrate the occasion. Iroquois Park Sports Centre will be hosting the festivities, and there will something for everyone.

The rink will be open for a free public skate, and both the young and the young at heart can visit the face painting station to have themselves decked out for the occasion. The Whitby Figure Skating Club will be putting on a live demonstration of its member’s talents, and there will also be a juggling show, a magician, balloon artists and many other entertainers as well.

Guests can purchase food or a drink from the concession, and the whole event is being offered to the community through the support of Scotiabank. Promotional drinkware and other items for a large event like this can be both designed and crafted by a local printing services provider.

This evening of family friendly festivities has been planned for December 31, starting at 6:00 pm. It will be held in 500 Victoria St W in Whitby, and anyone who is interested in learning more can find additional details on the city’s website.
