Fiber optic cable installation training course to be held in Edmonton

October 5, 2016 by

Those who are interested in learning how to install fiber optic cable in the context of a local area network are invited to take part in in a three-day training course that will give them the skills they need to be proficient at this task.

A wide assortment of topics will be included in the training, including both single and multi-node types of fiber, cable placement, mechanical splicing and fusion, cable termination, and acceptance testing. Participants will be able to get hands-on experience, and will build their own multi-node and single node systems, as well as practice troubleshooting techniques that they can use in whatever situations they may encounter. Various equipment will be covered as well.

The cost for the training is $1,350, which includes all resource materials and the use of any tools that are needed, and lunch will be provided. Upon successful completion of the course, those who attend will be eligible to receive 20 BICSA continuing education credits. A booklet printing company can produce customized course materials and handouts for a training program such as this.

The Corning Fiber Installation Class will be held from November 1 to November 3 at Anixter in Edmonton. More information, and a chance to register for the event, can be obtained through the course’s Eventbrite page.
