Festival offers information to seniors in Waterloo

The Senior Stock summit is taking place next month in Waterloo. Presented by the JCIC House, the theme of this year’s event is ‘Unity. One place. One stand. One goal’.

The event is set to feature presentations from organizations that are dedicated to providing services for the senior population. There will also be interactive workshops on various topics of interest to older people, and several guest speakers and appearances.

The opening ceremonies will take place at 10:30 AM.

There will also be a number of vendors on hand that will be providing shopping opportunities. In addition, many of them will be handing out free samples and other giveaways. Several raffles and draws are also planned; prizes will be provided by many of the vendors.

Guests are allowed to bring their pets but they must be fully controlled and on leashes. The event will go on rain or shine.

The festival will be an opportunity for seniors to network with their peers. Waterloo stationery printers are often asked by the organizers of events like this to provide promotional products such as pens and fridge magnets to be given away.

The Senior Stock festival will be held at Waterloo Park on August 18 from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. For more information about this event, visit the Eventbrite page.
