Famous Canadian soldier and author to speak in Vancouver

September 1, 2017 by

A well-known Canadian former general – who is currently a senator, author and humanitarian – will be in Vancouver to discuss his book and his ongoing battle with PTSD, and the public is invited to come and join in the conversation.

Romeo Dallaire, who authored the book ‘Waiting for First Light: My Ongoing Struggle With PTSD’ will be discussing his works, his time in Rwanda and how he has worked to bring the issue of veterans’ mental health to the forefront. Those who attend the evening will have an opportunity to meet with Dallaire, and copies of his books will be available for purchase. Those who wish to have him sign their copy will be able to do so after the presentation is over.

The event is being brought to the city as part of Vancouver Writers Fest, and will take place in St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church. The ticket prices for adults start at $30, while youth tickets have been priced at $15. Front section seats are also available, and tickets for them are $50 each. Pop-up banners and other printed materials can be prepared for used during a function like this by a local print company.

November 16 has been selected as the date for this evening with an author, and anyone who would like to attend or who wants more information can find it by visiting the event’s Facebook listing.
