Event to help fund important local charities

The 36th annual Big Spring Gala and Auction is taking place next month. It is a fundraiser for the Canadian Progress Club – Halifax.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘A night of winning and a night of giving’. The evening will start off with a cocktail reception complete with an open bar. It will be followed by a silent auction, a three-course dinner and a live auction. There will also be entertainment, speakers and a reverse Rolex raffle where the winner will receive his and hers Rolex watches.

The live auction is set to feature several big-ticket items such as cars and vacation packages. Organizers are still accepting donations to the silent auction from local businesses or individuals.

The gala will continue with an after-party that will feature music and dancing.

The Canadian Progress Club – Halifax raises funds for several charities. Their main ones are the King’s Meadow Home and the Progress Centre for Early Intervention. Other groups they help fund include Feeding Others of Dartmouth.

Guests from both Dartmouth and Halifax will no doubt be interested in attending this event. Local print shops often provide invitations that are mailed out.

The Big Spring Gala and Auction will be held at the Cunard Centre on May 5 from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Tickets are $125 each. Visit the event website for more information.
