Event helps new citizens find their place in Canada

The Gateway 2017 is taking place this month in Markham, presented by the Regional Municipality of York.

This event is aimed at internationally educated professionals (IEPs) who are looking for the opportunity to practice their profession in Canada. They will have the opportunity to make connections with employers, professional associations and government agencies. They will learn about the requirements they must meet in order to work in their chosen industry, as well as find out about available jobs in the community. In addition, settlement organizations will be on hand to provide help, and universities and colleges will have information about their programs and courses.

There will be two keynote speakers: Mohamad Fahik of Paramount Fine Foods, and Daniele Zanotti from the United Way Toronto and York Region.

This will also be a networking opportunity for these professionals, who will not only make connections with employers but with others in their industry that they may develop partnerships with. Many attending may place a business card printing order with a Markham print company to help them keep in touch with those they meet.

The Gateway 2017 will be held at the Toronto Markham Suites Hotel on October 30 from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. Contact Patrick Kasebzanf at 905-830-4444 x72160 to learn more.
