Etobicoke event to help homeless youth

January 28, 2017 by

Students and other volunteers from Etobicoke and the rest of Toronto will be coming together to raise both funds and awareness for youth homelessness in the city. They are hoping people will be generous in their support.

The event, dubbed “Tokens4Change”, will see over 400 students and more than 100 adults taking to TTC, PATH, and assorted office locations throughout the city. They will be performing music, dance, spoken word poetry, visual art and theatre for commuters and other members of the public and accepting any donations they wish to make.

Tangerine is the presenting sponsor for the event and will be hosting a volunteer hub for the day, which will include an afternoon showcase of local artists. Wide format printing can be used to create banners and other promotional products to help spread the word about an event such as this.

The monies collected throughout the day will be contributed to Youth Without Shelter to help support it in its efforts to meet the needs of the city’s homeless youth. It will provide funding for its programs and also assist with meeting its transportation costs.

Tokens4Change has been planned for February 3rd for different locations across the city. A complete listing of these and the varied performances that will be taking place can be found on the organizer’s website.
