Edmonton to host ice cold fundraiser

July 14, 2017 by

Ice cream is a popular cold dessert during the hot days of summer, and in Edmonton, a fundraiser has been planned that will feature this chilly treat.

The event, which has been organized and staged by Chapman’s Ice Cream, will include runs for all ages and levels of ability. There will be 5 and 10 kilometer routes for people to run, walk or roll, and the kids can participate in the 1 kilometer Little Scoops Run. Once they reach the finish line, those who took part will be treated to a huge ice cream buffet while they relax and mingle with the other runners.

Each person who takes part in the activity will receive a special race medal that has been specially crafted for the day. They will also have bragging rights and the knowledge that their efforts have helped to preserve both the lowland and mountain gorillas and their habitat, as proceeds from the day will be used to help fund veterinarian scholarships for students who plan on taking up this task upon graduation. An area printing company can provide everything from customized T-shirts to banners, ad specialties to give out as swag, and more for a fundraiser such as this.

The Edmonton Ice Cream Run will be held on July 23 in Kinsmen Park. Anyone who would like to register, or who wants more information, is asked to visit the city’s website.
