Edmonton event to help animals in need

May 20, 2017 by

Edmonton’s branch of 100 Women Who Care has made animal welfare the theme of its June gathering, and the public is invited to lend its support to its efforts.

Members of the public are invited to nominate their favorite not-for-profit organization that helps animals, and then come to a meeting where the top three finalists will each present a short discussion about how they can put funding to use if they are selected. Those present will then have an opportunity to vote for their top choice, and this charity will then walk away with $100 in donations from each person who present at the meeting.

Along with the presentations and vote, there will be a silent auction and an opportunity to socialize. People are invited to bring along Fido or Fluffy, so long as they do not mind crowds and are well behaved. A printer can prepare customized pop-up banners that a group like this can use during each of the fundraising or other events it hosts.

The event will take place on the evening of June 7 in Lexus of Edmonton, which can be found at 11204 170 Street in Edmonton. It will run from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and all are welcome. Additional details can be found on the 100 Women Who Care Edmonton Facebook page.
