Downton Abbey-style tea coming up Mississauga

A Mississauga gathering will give those who take part a chance to take a step back in time to the turn of the century, during an event that will take a page form a popular TV drama.

Benares historic House will be hosting a high tea, and it will follow a Downton Abbey theme. Guests are invited to wear their favourite hat and gloves and be ready to hear the latest gossip from the show, and learn more about what life was really like back during the time when the program was set.

Along with the tea, the attendees will be treated to a tour of the historic home, and they will learn more about the family that lived there and what their lives were like. A traditional cream tea will be served, and there will be lots of time for the assembled group to chat, talk about the show and simply enjoy the afternoon’s experiences.

Tickets are required to participate in this event, and they are on offer to the public for $15.35 each, plus tax. Local print shops can provide banners and other decorations for an event, designed in a style that would have been popular at the time it seeks to recreate.

The Downton Abbey Tea will be held on November 4 and December 2. The event is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm on both days.
