Cultural festival returns to Regina

The 48th annual Mosaic: A Festival of Cultures event is taking place over three days this June in Regina.

It is presented by the Regina Multicultural Council, and this year’s honorary ambassador is Michael Cassano.

Visitors purchase a passport that gives them access to 20 different cultural pavilions, and they can visit all of them or just concentrate on one. Some of the cultures participating in this year’s festival include Austrian, First Nations, Irish and Philippines. Shuttle buses leave from the DoubleTree by Hilton and visit all of the pavilions.

Each pavilion will be hosting cultural entertainment such as dancing, serving traditional food and drinks, and showcasing the national costume.

There are two contests running during the festival. The first one is called ‘The World is Just Down the Street’. Guests fill out a survey in their passport and answer questions for the chance to win a $2,500 travel voucher. The second is a Twitter contest, in which those who post with the hashtag #MosaicYQR can win a $1,500 voucher. Both contests will end on June 12.

The necessary passports may have been provided by Regina brochure printers.

Mosaic: A Festival of Cultures is being held at various venues in Regina from June 4 to 6. Passports cost $14 for adults and $9 for seniors and children between the ages of 6 and 12. Call the hotline at 306-757-5990 for more information.
