Cozy quilt show set for Chilliwack

September 5, 2018 by

Quilting is an art that has long been used to make blankets that are as beautiful as they are functional, and a Chilliwack expo will give the public a chance to admire a group that has been crafted right in their home town.

Hundreds of quilts and other hand crafted pieces will be on display during the ‘Piecemaking in the Valley’ 2018 Quilt Show. There will also be quilters on hand to give demonstrations of how they go about their work and many other activities for the public to enjoy.

An assortment of musicians will be giving live performances, and there will be a corner set up where the crowd can relax and chat with friends old and new over a cup of tea. Merchants and other vendors will have displays for the attendees to browse through, and there will be quilt and basket raffles as well. All sizes of quilts will be on display, and everyone is welcome.

Admission to the show is $5 each, and children under 12, as well as husbands, will be admitted free of charge. Local print shops can supply customized promotional products, such as small measuring tapes, magnifiers and sewing kits for an event like this.

The show will be open to the public on October 19 and 20 at 8700 Young Rd. The Tourism Chilliwack website includes more details for anyone who is interested in finding out more.
