November 5, 2018 by

The Prairie Wood Solutions Conference is taking place next month in Calgary, and is a presentation of Wood Works! Alberta.

The conference is aimed at engineers, architects, planners and any other professionals who use wood. It will provide information about local and international wood projects in design and construction.

There will be several seminars on various topics. These include Eleanor Brough speaking about timber design in schools in the United Kingdom, acoustics with Andre Rioux, and Steven Craft will discuss the aspects of fire safety. In addition, there will be a showcase from the North American Wood Design Awards 2017-2018, which will be hosted by Marianne Berube and Lynn Embury-Williams from Wood Works!

The exhibit hall will feature displays from various manufacturers of wood products and those who provide wood products to the construction industry.

Attendees at the conference can receive six professional development credits. Snacks, coffee and lunch will be provided with the conference fees.

With this being a networking opportunity for those in the industry, as well as students planning to join one day, Calgary print shops may be asked to provide business cards to some of those planning to attend.

The Prairie Wood Solutions Conference will be held at the BMO Centre on December 11 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Fees are $75. Call 780-392-1952 to learn more.
