Conference celebrates the Toastmasters

April 14, 2018 by

Pathways to Excellence, the District 86 Toastmaster Spring Conference, is taking place over three days this month.

The conference recognizes Toastmasters who have made an impact, as well as give them educational opportunities and the chance to meet their fellow members. There will be a meet and greet for newcomers, a banner parade and several workshops. Topics of workshops are set to include speaking skills, professional development and leadership.

There will be breakfasts, lunches, a Director’s banquet, a Director’s ball and a recognition dinner so there will be plenty of opportunities to meet other members. In addition, there is set to be a silent auction and a keynote address by Jim Kokocki. Attendees can also enter an evaluation contest or the District International Speech Contest; both cost $50 each.

Two awards will also be given out during the three-day conference: the Douglas Barkley Award for contributions to promotion of Toastmasters and the Members Make A Difference Award, for members who have made a difference in their community.
Mississauga print shops are often asked to provide printed materials or plaques that are handed out as awards to events like this.

The District 86 Toastmaster Spring Conference will be held at the Hilton Mississauga from April 27 to 29. Full conference fees are $399 until April 20 or $249 for two days. To learn more, visit the official District 86 website.
