Competition to add some extra heat to the Chilliwack summer

June 8, 2018 by

The 4th Annual Barn Burner BBQ will soon be heating up the upcoming Chilliwack summer, and everyone is welcome to check out this yearly event.

The competition will feature the efforts of barbeque experts from all over North America, and $5,000 in prize money will be up for grabs. The day is being sponsored by Johnston’s Pork and Fraser Valley Speciality Poultry, and trophies will be awarded along with the monetary prizes.

Southern-style barbeque will be the order of the day for this competition, and only charcoal and wood will be used as heat sources. A variety of categories will be organized for the contest, and one of these will be the “black box” cook off. This will see each team presented with four mystery ingredients that they will need to incorporate into one dish, which will then be submitted to the judges for tasting.

Along with the food, there will be face painting, live music, a climbing wall, and a chance for the crowd to sample some of the food. A local printing services supplier will be able to provide signs and any other items needed for an event like this.

This sizzling summer competition will be taking place on July 22 at The Farm Store in Chilliwack. It will run from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, and more details can be found on its website.
