Comic convention returns this spring

March 22, 2018 by

The 5th annual Spring Geequinox is taking place for two days next month. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to Frag for Cancer.

This is a popular comic convention that takes place annually in Halifax. It features comic books, art, cosplay (costumes), and video and tabletop games. Several guests will be making appearances over the two days including Tony White of Chapterhouse Comics, comics artist Nick Bradshaw, and writer Jack Briglio. The guests will be taking part in panel discussions and presentations.

One highlight of the event will be the costume contest for prizes. Another is the vendor’s room. A wide variety of merchandise is expected to be offered for sale, including collectible comic books, games, posters and action figures.

Frag for Cancer is a video gaming tournament that is set to take place in October at Dalhousie University. Since its inception, it has raised over $145,000 for organizations such as the Canadian Cancer Society. All proceeds from the 2018 event will be donated to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society of Canada.

No doubt gaming fans in Dartmouth and Halifax will be looking forward to this event. To advertise, organizers might invest in flyer printing service.

The Spring Geequinox will be held at the Halifax Forum Multipurpose Centre from April 14 to 15. Tickets are $10 per day and $15 for both days, or $5 for children between the ages of 9 and 12. Visit the Facebook page for the most current information.
