Chilliwack REALTORS have joined others in Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley in issuing a request to the public to show support for an event that will benefit the working poor and homeless in the community.

REALTORS will be holding its 23rd annual REALTORS Care Blanket Drive, and it is hoping that donations for this year will be the highest yet. Contributions of sleeping bags and blankets will be appreciated, as will gifts of coats, gloves, scarves, hats and other winter accessories, new warm underwear and socks and also bivy sacks and plastic ponchos.

Clothing for any age and size will be accepted. The organizer’s noted that, over the years, the campaign has been able to collect enough to be able to assisting over 300,000 people.

There will be several locations set up where the public will be able to drop off their contributions, and these will be announced closer to the date of the event. A local printer will be able to utilize wide format printing to create banners and other promotional products that can help to make sure that a campaign like this is a success.

This campaign that will seek to bring some warmth to the cold days of winter will run from November 14th until the 21st. Additional details about the campaign can be found by visiting its website.
