Celebrate BC Day in historic fashion

The BC Day Celebrations are taking place in Burnaby early next month.

The celebrations will be held at the Burnaby Village Museum and there will be a variety of fun activities for the entire family to enjoy.

The event will also be taking place on Market Monday which happens every two months during the spring and summer. It features a wide variety of local products for sale that include arts and crafts, local merchandise and artisan foods.

Special guests at the celebration this year will be the Laughing Loggers. They will demonstrate chainsaw carving, present a logging show, and provide a fun children’s activity.

There will also be electric train rides, a scavenger hunt, and a platen press demonstration presented by the Burnaby Post. The public can also watch a blacksmith demonstration and visit the teacher at Seaforth School.

As always, the carousel will be open and available to ride; tickets cost $2.65 each.

The Museum offers a look back at the history of BC and is an educational way to celebrate the holiday.

The organizers of this event will likely be working with a Burnaby flyer printing firm to help advertise in the community.

The BC Day Celebrations will be held at Burnaby Village Museum on August 6 from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Admission is free of charge. Call 604-297-4565 for more information.
