Cambridge sessions with Santa will be sensory friendly

Visiting Santa is a holiday tradition for many families, but for those with sensory processing issues, it can be one they have had to skip. This year, Cambridge will be hosting sessions with Santa that will be sensory friendly, so all kids can join in the experience.

Each family can book their own timeslot with Santa, and the lighting will be kept low and the surroundings quiet, and without the typical crowds that this sort of event tends to attract. Every family will receive a complimentary keepsake photo of the occasion.

The planners of the sessions have requested that area families spread the word about them to educators and others who work with children with special needs, so that as many kids as possible will be able to take advantage of this initiative. It has been requested that anyone who would like to book a time with Santa do so ahead of time, as this will aid in keeping the event well organized.

Four morning have been set aside at Cambridge Centre for these visits with the Jolly Old Elf. Colouring books, banners, flyers and promotional pens to give away to the kids who come to meet Santa are just a few of the products that can be produced for an event like this by an area printer.

Parents and caregivers who would like to book a timeslot can chose between November 25, December 2, 9, and 16. The organizers can be reached at 519-740-4680 ext. 4292 or through email at hylandr@cambridge.ca
