Calgary’s human bonspiel back for another year

January 5, 2017 by

This winter, Calgary Corporate Challenge will once again be hosting one of the city’s well-known cold weather fundraising events.

Participants will be asked to take to the ice as part of the city’s annual Human Bonspiel. Just as in the traditional version of the game, teams of four will do their best to aim for the designated target. The biggest difference is that instead of the usual stone, the players themselves will be sliding down the ice, and no sweeping by his or her teammates will be needed. Each member will have three chances to take to the ice and get the best score they can.

The event will take place over eight days, with registration starting at 11:30 am each day. The daily winners will be asked to come back for the championship finals, will be held on the last day of the bonspiel. A portion of the monies raised will be donated to KidSport Calgary. Banners for an event like this can be both custom designed and printed by a print company.

The friendly competition will begin on January 31, and it will run until February 9 in the city’s Olympic Plaza. Team of four can register for $150 each.

An opportunity to find out more and a link for those who wish to register to participate is available on the event’s website.
