Calgary set to host animal welfare conference

March 2, 2018 by

This spring, those involved in the country’s animal welfare sector will be coming together to participate in a conference that has been planned for Calgary.

The Canadian Federation of Humane Societies has organized its National Animal Welfare Conference and it has been planned to offer both networking and professional development opportunities. It is scheduled to take place over two days, and there will be presentations, discussion groups, mixers and many other activities.

The organizers have retained several guest and keynote speakers to address the delegates, and the topics that will be covered range from best practices related to animal sheltering to leadership issues in the context of animal welfare and emerging issues in the field. Panel discussions are on the agenda, and delegates will have an opportunity to learn more about enhancing their stakeholder relations and advocacy techniques.

The Hyatt Regency Calgary will be the venue for the occasion, and there will be a day of training following the conference itself. An awards dinner is also on the agenda. Customized corporate gifts can be designed by a print company to give to those who will be honoured during an event like this.

This year’s conference is set to begin on April 21st. It is open to anyone who works in the field of, or who has an interest in, animal welfare. Those who are interested in finding our more have been invited to contact the organizers through the CFHS Facebook page.
