Calgary event to welcome Year of the Pig

December 7, 2018 by

2019 will be the Year of the Pig in the Chinese calendar. A Calgary function has been planned by the Sien Lok Society of Calgary to mark the occasion with a celebration of Chinese culture, food and music.

Plans for the evening include a variety of traditions that hail from China. A ten-course meal of traditional Chinese dishes is on the menu, to be accompanied by music and other performances. There will be a lion dance as well as a classical Chinese orchestra, and guests will be welcome to dance the night away to live music.

The schedule for the evening starts with a champagne reception at 5:30 pm, which will be followed by the dinner and live entertainment. Once this has concluded, the live band will take over, and the attendees can take to the dance floor. A special area for the kids will also be set up, and tickets for this are free.

Everyone is welcome to attend this occasion, and the suggested dress is traditional Chinese or black tie. Logo design and other print services for a large event like this can be provided by a printer in the area.

The Sien Lok Society’s 50th Chinese New Year Gala Celebration will be taking place this year on February 2nd. The Regency Palace Restaurant has been selected to be the venue for the festivities.
