Calgary evening to teach the art of macramé

March 7, 2017 by

Macramé has long been used to create household items, and participants in a workshop that has been planned for Calgary will learn how to use this artistic technique to craft their own hanging herb gardens.

Both Greater Goods and Lune Obvallata’s Lianna Hung have joined forces to host the event. Ms. Hung will be teaching the different knotting techniques that will be used to create the hanger, which will include spaces for three pots and will hang from a copper bar. This way, it can be hung in the kitchen, in a sunny window, or anywhere else in the home.

Each person who signs up will receive all the supplies and tools they will need to complete the project, as well as instruction and also a detailed booklet to take home so they can make more hangers should they wish to do so. Light refreshments will also be provided, and each participant will be given a gift from Greater Goods. Comb binding can be utilized to create reasonably priced handouts that provide further macramé instruction for each person who signs up to take part.

This evening workshop has been planned for April 12 in the Greater Goods Boutique and Tea Bar, which is located at 606 Meredith Road Northeast, #8. Tickets to participate are $85 each, and they can be purchased through Greater Goods Facebook page.
