Calgary evening to offer yoga and wine with some furry friends

Calgary residents who are looking for a way to unwind after a busy week can join some friendly felines for an evening of yoga.

The Calgary Humane Society has planned the event to both provide a respite from the stresses of modern life and also introduce some cats and kittens who are in need of a loving home. Along with this, wine and cheese will be served and the guests will be given a behind-the-scenes look at the shelter and learn more about its work to help stray, abandoned and abused animals.

Each person who comes to the function is asked to bring along their own mat, and be at least 16 years of age. It is also recommended that they wear long pants that are comfortable and suitable for the occasion.

The scheduled start time for the session is 6:00 pm, but participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes ahead of this so they can register and choose their spot. Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased ahead of time. Print shops can create community bullet-ins that can be distributed to all local households to make them aware of when and where a function like this will be taking place.

June 15 has been chosen as the date for this special event, and it will be held at 4455 110 Avenue Southeast in Calgary. The Humane Society’s website is the place to go for further details about this function.
