Calgary CollectorFest back for another year

October 6, 2017 by

This October, Calgary will be the place to be for fans of pop culture and other “geekery” during the second annual CollectorFest.

This daylong event will showcase video games, toys, movies, and other pop and geek culture, and there will also be extensive displays of collectables. Attendees will be able to attend a variety of workshops and other special events, and a wide assortment of vendors will be on hand offering products for sale.

The organizers noted that they are excited to announce the workshops on the agenda for this year. Those who come out can learn how to paint their very own action figures and other toys, craft collectable buttons, and other items. Organizers added that there is one for every skill level and ages, and all are welcome.

A Hot Wheels race track space will also be set up, there will be a Pokémon tournament, and the retro video game lovers in the crowd will also have an area that will be dedicated to the pastime they love. Pop-up banners can be crafted by a printer for use during a function like this.

The city’s Chinese Cultural Centre will be hosting the event, which will be held on October 21. The ticket price for those age 12 and over will be $5, while kids under 12 will be admitted free of charge. More details can be found on the CollectorFest Facebook listing.
