Business series kicks off this September

August 31, 2018 by

The Emerging Industries and the Future of Work seminar is taking place next month in Medicine Hat. It is presented by the Apex Southeast Alberta Regional Innovation Network.

This is the first part of a three-part series. The topic is “Blockchain and cryptocurrency: workforce and economic impacts”.

This seminar will be divided into

four separate sessions. The first one will be led by keynote speaker Linda Nazareth, author of the book “Work is not a place: our lives and our organizations in the post-jobs economy.” It will be followed by an in-depth look into blockchain and cryptocurrency from Elana Dumitrascu, co-founder of Terra-hub. The third session will be led by Andrew Kiguel of Hut 8. He will provide an update on the industry and local developments. The last session will be a panel discussion featuring all three speakers and will feature a question and answer opportunity.

All attendees will also receive lunch, refreshments and a parking pass.

It is likely that many of those attending this Medicine Hat event will be bringing their business cards to exchange with their peers.

The Emerging Industries and the Future of Work seminar will be held at Medicine Hat College on September 20 from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Tickets are $34.38 each. To learn more about this event, contact Elizabeth Blair at 403-528-2824.
