Business education series wraps up this spring

The Our Downtown! Video Series and Round Table Educational Program is getting ready to present its last two parts in the coming months.

This is a monthly four-part “resurgence of downtown” series that began in February, and is presented by the Downtown Business Association and the Leduc Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The series started of discussing why the downtown area was important and was followed the next month by a session on how to implement the ideas that came up in the first meeting. Part three, which will take place on April 5, is set to discuss how downtown businesses can encourage residents to visit the area at least 250 days of the year. The final session, on May 3 will feature speaker Roger Brooks who will provide highlights of four other downtowns and their successes.

Participants will also receive a free pizza dinner and refreshments. In additional to being educational, each session is an important networking event and it is likely that most of the Leduc business leaders attending will be bringing their premium business cards to exchange with their peers.

The next Our Downtown program will be held at the Leduc Chamber boardroom on April 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for Chamber members and $15 for nonmembers. For more information about this event or about the series, contact Kristy Irving at 587-336-2292
