Burnaby to celebrate Canada’s birthday

Special Canada Day celebrations have been planned for the city of Burnaby, and the whole city is invited to come out and wish the country a very happy birthday.

Swangard Stadium, Edmonds Plaza and Park, and Burnaby Village Museum will all be hosting festivities, and these range from fireworks and a free concert, to music, face painting, bingo, games and other activities. A parade is planned and, since its all for the nation’s special day, birthday cake will be served.

These different options are free of charge and are suitable for all ages. Many will have a multicultural theme, and at Burnaby Village Museum, they will take place against a backdrop that has a 1920s look and feel. The entertainment at Swangard Stadium will kick off at 5:00 pm and the fireworks will take place at dusk, while the activities at Edmonds Plaza and Park and the museum will both start at 11:00 am and run throughout the afternoon.
