Burnaby area fundraiser will go to the dogs

Guide and service dogs can provide support for both those who are blind and people with profound autism, and during a Burnaby area special event, the public will be able to aid in making them available to those who can benefit from one.

The Ties and Tails charity auction, which is a fundraiser for BC & Alberta Guide Dogs, will offer a variety of items for the guests to bid on, and the monies raised will be used to aid in meeting the expenses of breeding, raising and then providing training to service dogs. It is intended to be a fun evening, and all are welcome.

Those who come to the function will be treated to dinner, and then the live and silent auctions will begin. There will also be a raffle, and some of the organization’s autism support and guide dogs will be on hand to meet with the crowd so that they can see for themselves how their support makes a difference. Print shops can supply printed programs and other materials that can help to make this type of occasion a success.

This auction for a cause has been planned for the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, and the doors will open on May 12 at 5:30 pm. Tickets for the occasion start at $125.00 each, and anyone who would like further details can find them on the organizer’s Facebook page.
