Breakfast in YEG will be gluten free

Later this month, all Edmonton residents will be able to enjoy a traditional breakfast of pancakes that will be made using nontraditional ingredients.

As part of the city’s K-Days celebration, the Edmonton Chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association will be hosting a gluten free morning meal that will include pancakes, sausages, and all the extras too. Everyone is invited to come out and kick off their day with a hearty breakfast while they spend time with family and friends old and new.

Tickets for the function will be available for purchase at the door, and they have been priced at $6 for adults and $4 for anyone four and under, with the proceeds set to be used to assist the organizers in raising public awareness of celiac disease. Those who plan on attending have also been asked to keep the less fortunate in mind and bring along a donation for their local food bank. A local printer can supply reusable pop-up banners for organizations that host public functions such as this.

This morning event, which will feature a gluten-free menu, will take place on July 22 at 10940 120 Street directly in front of Kinnikinic Foods. Anyone who is interested in finding out more has been asked to visit the Canadian Celiac Association Edmonton Chapter’s website.
