Brampton film screening to be a sensory-friendly event

August 1, 2018 by

A sensory friendly-movie screening will soon be on offer for Brampton families with an autistic child, and the whole family is welcome to enjoy the morning.

The film that has been selected for the occasion will be ‘Team Titans Go!’, and it is suitable for all ages. To help ensure that it will be a sensory-friendly experience, both the volume and lighting will be adjusted, and there will be no coming attractions or commercials shown before the feature.

Autistic children, along with their siblings and caregivers, are invited, and the ticket price is $3 per child and $5 for each adult. The caregivers will need to remain with their child(ren) during the event, and will need to register upon arrival. The activity is being brought to the community by Autism Ontario’s Central West Region branch, and both members and nonmembers may participate.

The theatre will be reserved for the exclusive use of guests for this movie screening. Flyer printing can be used to craft marketing materials, which can be distributed to local households to let them know when and where an event like this is on offer in their area.

The screening has been scheduled for 50 Great Lakes Drive in Brampton on Saturday, August 11. More information can be found on the Autism Ontario website.
