The Tour de Delta is taking place next month over three days. The tour part of BC Superweek, which is a series of nine pro races in ten days in various communities.

The Tour de Delta will consist of three separate types of races: North Delta Criterium, Ladner Criterium and Kids Races. The North Delta Criterium will be held on July 6. It is a 1.2-km that will be held on 84 Avenue. It features both a women’s and a men’s pro race. The Ladner Criterium which will take place on Delta Street at Bridge Street in Ladner Village is also a 1.2-km race. There are three categories and cash prizes.

The Kids Races will be held on three different days. The first one will be held at Richardson Elementary School. There will be races for 6-8 year-olds (0.6km) and 9-11 year-olds (1.2km). Richardson is also hosting a community festival which will feature food trucks, a kids’ zone, interactive sports and mascots. The second race will be held on Chisholm St. in Ladner and the third race will take place in Tsawwassen.

No doubt this event will attract people from all over Delta, and a local poster printing firm may help to spread the word.

The Tour De Delta will be held from July 6 to 8. Call 604-952-3545 for the most current information.
