Applefest offers education for the public

July 24, 2018 by

Applefest is taking place next month in Lethbridge, presented by the Lethbridge Sustainable Loving Association.

There will be plenty of activities taking place that should appeal to people of all ages. The public is welcome to bring their own apples to have them ground and juiced by the Fruit Rescue Program; they must also bring a clean container to hold the juice. There will also be several Learning Tents set up that will provide hands-on workshops on topics such as Apple Cider Vinegar, Compost, and Zero Waste 101.

There are set to be beer gardens, food concessions, and vendors that will be selling arts and crafts, food, and environmentally friendly products. Several nonprofit organizations will also be exhibiting information about their programs and services.

Musical entertainment will be provided by artists such as the Blackfoot Drummers, the Mark Hall Band, and Artemis in the Summer. There will also be a Kid Zone with games and family-friendly activities. One of the activities will be children’s yoga.

The participation vendors may invest in reusable banners provided by a Lethbridge banner printing company to draw more attention to their booths.

Applefest will be held at Galt Gardens in Lethbridge on August 11 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. To learn more about this event, contact Dil Japp at 403-929-4379.
