Annual festival returns to celebrate Tesla

August 4, 2018 by

The 3rd annual Tesla Electric City Festival is taking place this month in Hamilton. It is a presentation of the Nikola Tesla Educational Corporation.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Celebrating 120 years of electricity’ since it will be the anniversary of the first hydro-electric power transmission to Hamilton from Decew Falls in Thorold.

The festival is set to feature new product demonstrations from electricity and high-tech exhibitors. These exhibitors will be a mix of commercial companies, hobbyists, students, and science clubs.

Guests can enjoy looking at model engineering items provided by the Hamilton Model Engineering Club or take miniature steam train rides hosted by the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers.

There is also set to be musical entertainment and a variety of family activities. There will be food trucks on site as well. Several local vendors will also be on hand to sell their merchandise.

No doubt this event will attract many visitors who are interested in the past and the future of electricity. To help spread the word, organizers of such events often invest in flyer printing from Hamilton print shops.

The Tesla Electric City Festival will be held at the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology on August 26 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is free to both the festival and the museum. Call 905-546-4797 for more information.
