Annual festival has something for everyone

The 45th annual Tsawwassen Sun Festival is taking place next month for three days.

This popular annual festival promises to offer activities that should appeal to the entire family. There will be an antique fair, beer garden, and classic car show and shine. There will also be a Kids Funzone which is set to feature rides and games, and a $10 unlimited ride pass is available for purchase.

Several athletic tournaments will be taking place over the three days including lawn bowling, volleyball, and slo-pitch. There will be a movie night on August 7 from 8:30 to 11:00 PM at Beach Grove Elementary, during which ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ will be screened.

There will be three days of various performances provided by groups such as the Kin Kin Dancers, the Studio West Dance Academy and Highland dancers Shot of Scotch. Along with this will be a Delta’s got Talent show and bingo games.

A popular part of the festival will be the Rotary Parade on August 7 beginning at 11:00 AM. Prior to this, the Lions Club will be hosting a pancake breakfast from 8:00 AM, and tickets are $6.

Organizers will probably invest in sign printing services from a Delta stationery printer to recognize sponsors.

The Tsawwassen Sun Festival will be held at Winskill Park and the South Delta Recreation Center from August 5 to 7. Visit the official event website for more information.
