The Airdrie Summer Classic is taking place next month in the city, and is a presentation of the Time Travellers Car Club of Airdrie.

The theme of the event is ‘Doin’ it in the Grass.’ Proceeds will be donated to two local food banks and several animal rescue organizations.

Cars, motorcycles and trucks can be registered in advance at the Hampton Inn and Suites Airdrie on Friday, August 10 or on the day of the show. Registration fees are $15 per vehicle.

The vehicles will be competing for 10 awards, which include Top 10, Top 3 Motorcycles, Mayor’s Choice, People’s Choice and Top Horsepower.

There will also be other activities taking place during the show. There is set to be an engine build-off contest and a demonstration of the Dyno Jet 224 Chassis Dyno.

Related to this event is a poker run and cruise that will take place on August 10 at the Hampton Inn and Suites Airdrie. It will feature a barbecue dinner.

Airdrie poster printing firms are often asked to provide items such as posters to the organizers of such events.

The Airdrie Summer Classic will be held on August 11 at Nosecreek Regional Park, and the rain date is August 25. Admission is free although guests are expected to bring a food donation. Call 403-862-4855 for the most up-to-date information.
