Airdrie celebrates the culture of Germany

October 25, 2018 by

The Airdrie Oktoberfest Festival is taking place in a few days, and is a presentation of the ASAOF.

The festival is divided up into two parts. The morning and afternoon events are for all-ages, while there will be an adult celebration for those aged 19 and over beginning at 8:00 PM. Entry is free before noon and $10 after.

The first 100 people through the gates will enjoy a free pancake breakfast. There will be plenty of music with a German flavour, along with dancing and beer. Food will be provided by several trucks. Vendors will also be on hand to sell a variety of German-related merchandise. Since it is so close to Halloween, treats for the children will also be handed out during the day.

The next day, the same venue will be hosting the Trick or Treat Halloween Market from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. It will feature many of the vendors who participate in the Millarville Farmers’ Market, as well as local artisans. There will also be a kids’ craft station and a costume contest for people of all ages. Admission is free of charge.

Airdrie print shops often provide marketing material such as flyers for events such as these.

Both events will be held at the Best Western Airdrie. The Oktoberfest will be held this Saturday, October 27 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the Halloween Market will take place on Sunday, October 28. Call 587-439-2042 to learn more.
