Airdrie asked to Zumba for a cause

Zumba can be a fun way to get some exercise, but during a Airdrie area fundraiser, it will be making a much bigger impact.

The United Way of Calgary will be the beneficiary of an afternoon planned for the New Horizon Mall in Balzac. The participants will be challenged to perform the African fitness dance for two hours, and skilled instructors will be on site to guide the group and make sure everyone has a great time.

The organizers noted that one of the main goals of the activity is for the participants to have fun, and lots of laughter is expected. While they exercise, those who take part can get to know one another and build friendships, all while knowing they are doing a good turn for a wide range of community service organizations.

The registration fee for the Zumba fundraiser is $10, and people are asked to RSVP as this will aid in planning the occasion. The suggested dress is sneakers and fitness wear, and people are asked to bring along some water, as well as a towel. An event like this can make a big difference in the community, and local stationery printers can use graphic design techniques to create personalized certificates to thank each person who comes out.

The kick off time for the Make Every Move Count Zumbathon Charity Event will be 2:00 pm, and it will be held in the New Horizons Mall on January 20. All of the proceeds will be donated to the United Way of Calgary.
